Before founding Lodestar Energy, he started and built Joule Finance, to advise and find investors for solar DG projects, closing over 30 MWs in 2013 across a dozen clients.
Previously, Mr. Smith was VP/GM of the US Commercial business for SunEdison with full P&L responsibility from sales to operations through financing for all commercial and public sector customers. Under his leadership, SunEdison grew from $100 million to over $250 million in revenue from 2010 to 2011 and closed over 100 DG projects for commercial, including the first solar projects in Pennsylvania and Puerto Rico.
Before entering renewable energy, Mr. Smith held a variety of Executive and General Manger roles across companies from early stage to Fortune 500, including Alcoa (NYSE: AA), Free Markets (NASDAQ: FMKT/ARBA) and NVR (NYSE: NVR).
Jaime has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Virginia Tech and MBA from Harvard Business School.
