Before founding Lodestar Energy, Jeffrey founded ALTRU Energy in 2009 to develop and finance solar DG projects. In the renewable energy sector, Jeffrey has developed and financed more than $300M (>120 MW) of projects across eight states. Prior to founding Lodestar, Jeffrey worked as an attorney in private practice at two AMLAW 50 law firms, representing public and private companies, private equity funds, and financial institutions in a variety of businesses and industries, including renewable energy, finance and real estate, and multiple tax equity transactions. Over his career Jeffrey has closed transactions in excess of $20 Billion, and has been active in the private equity, renewable energy and technology arenas for more than two decades. He represented Evergreen Solar (ESLR) during its formative years, through its initial public offering in 2000, and as a public company thereafter.

Jeffrey serves on the Avon Clean Energy Commission, and has worked extensively to support community economic development, revitalization, growth and sustainability. Since 2009, a significant proportion of Jeff’s projects have benefited underserved communities by providing below–market, renewable energy to those in need.

Before founding Lodestar Energy, Jaime was Vice President & General Manager of the US Commercial business for SunEdison with full P&L responsibility from sales through financing and operations for all commercial and public sector customers.  Under his leadership, this business unit grew from $100 million to over $250 million in two years.  His teams closed over 100 solar projects for clients such as Walmart, Kohl’s, Staples, Whole Foods and the US Air Force and US Marine Corp across over a dozen states.

Before entering renewable energy, Jaime held a variety of Executive and General Manager roles across companies from early stage to Fortune 500, including Alcoa (NYSE:  AA), FreeMarkets (NASDAQ: FMKT/ARBA), and NVR (NYSE:  NVR).

Jaime is a proud member of the Virginia Tech Committee of 100, former Chairman of the ISE Advisory Board, and was elected to the Academy of Distinguished Alumni.

Jaime currently volunteers on the board of Wakeman Town Farm, an organic demonstration farm that serves the Westport community and through HBS Community Partners, offering pro bono consulting and education to local nonprofits in Connecticut.

Jaime has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Jack manages project financing and corporate development activities for Lodestar Energy. He is responsible for origination, transaction structuring, and execution. To date, he has successfully closed 15 solar project financings totaling more than $75 million.

Prior to joining Lodestar Energy Mr. Funk worked as Senior Investment Analyst, covering debt and non-traditional asset classes for Offit Capital, a private wealth management firm with $6.5 billion in assets under advisement.

Previously, Mr. Funk was a Senior Analyst at SunEdison where he was involved in the development of over 500 MW of solar assets across the United States. He is also the co-founder of Givlet, an online fundraising platform, which has helped nonprofits raise more than $2.5 million dollars.

Joanna is a business professional and paralegal with more than 30 years of experience in real estate, business organizations and finance. Joanna manages the team in loan and tax equity transactions. She works closely with outside counsel, title companies, surveyors, lenders and landlords.  She also manages all legal entity portfolios and implements corporate governance and ensures compliance.

Prior to joining the Lodestar team, she worked as a real estate and corporate paralegal in law firms with experience in commercial real estate transactions representing buyers, sellers and lending institutions. Joanna also is experienced in corporate business law including entity formation, organization, and administration; corporate governance; corporate transactions including stock and asset; mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions.

Joanna holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Connecticut.

Joanna is a notary public for the State of Connecticut. She is a member of the Central Connecticut Paralegal Association, Inc., Connecticut Bar Association, Paralegal Section and the National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Inc. .

Carrie joined Lodestar as its associate general counsel in 2019. She oversees all legal and regulatory work for Lodestar’s solar asset portfolio, its development pipeline and associated legal and contractual work.

When Carrie joined the Lodestar team, she brought over twenty (20) years of experience in real estate and site development experience in the renewable energy and telecommunications fields.  Carrie obtained approval for the first commercial wind project in the State of Connecticut in 2011 and has been responsible for the acquisition and sale of thousands of commercial properties and the development of hundreds of commercial properties throughout her career.

Carrie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bates College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law.

Jim joined Lodestar as its corporate accountant in 2020. He oversees all accounting work for Lodestar’s investment portfolios; its management analysis; and he plays a lead role in the preparation of its reviewed financial statements, tax returns and investment and operational-related reports and schedules for Lodestar’s management team.

When Jim joined the Lodestar team, he brought over 30 years of experience in the field, including 15 years at MassMutual managing accounting and financial reporting teams and 10 years working as a C.P.A. providing tax, financial reporting and management advisory services.

Jim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Western New England University, where he was honored as first in his class in Accounting.

Samantha is responsible for site identification and development of solar projects nationwide. Sam supports the Lodestar team through the negotiation of site control agreements, securing of necessary permits, and analysis of potential project acquisition. She screens project sites for suitability based on environmental, zoning and other considerations, and contributes to the management of project budgets and timelines. Sam also coordinates utility interconnection, and tracks applicable regulatory proceedings and energy policy across the U.S.

Prior to Lodestar, Sam worked as an equity analyst at BlackRock.

Sam holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Middlebury College.

Oliver leads Lodestar’s corporate strategy by analyzing electricity markets and tracking policy and regulatory changes to drive new market opportunities. He also supports the Lodestar team by negotiating power purchase agreements, securing project offtake, and evaluating potential project acquisitions. He screens project sites for suitability based on environmental, zoning and other considerations, and contributes to the management of project budgets and timelines.

Oliver holds a Bachelor’s degree in public policy from Vanderbilt University. Prior to joining Lodestar, Oliver worked as a Regional Director helping manage senate and presidential campaigns in Georgia.

Anna is responsible for all bookkeeping functions for Lodestar including accounts receivable and accounts payable. Anna also supports team members and accountants with construction and financing transactions, contract management, legal and cost flow analysis.

Prior to joining Lodestar, Anna worked as a full-time Associate Treasury Accountant/Operations Analyst while attending college. Anna currently holds a degree in Accounting and Business Administration.

Danielle is a paralegal with over 20 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate. Danielle supports the Lodestar legal and development teams in the execution of real estate, development and finance activities for its solar asset portfolio.  She works closely with outside counsel, title companies, vendors, lenders and landlords.  She is experienced in project due diligence inclusive of creation and maintenance of data rooms, contract preparation and review, entity formation and compliance, and title review.

Prior to joining Lodestar, Danielle worked as a Senior Paralegal for a prominent national solar developer.

Danielle holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from the University of Colorado.

As a Project Engineer at Lodestar Energy, Kayla works to develop and execute distributed generation solar projects. She is responsible for utilizing AutoCAD, PVCase, and PVsyst to develop conceptual layouts and optimize solar energy system designs for maximum performance and efficiency. In addition, she manages relationships with EPC contractors by overseeing project deliverables, scheduling, and quality assurance to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards. Overall, Kayla supports the Lodestar team in engineering, compliance, relationship management, and asset management tasks.

Prior to Lodestar, Kayla worked as a Battery Test Engineer at Proterra. Kayla holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.

Thomas joined Lodestar Energy in July 2024 as an Associate Project Developer, supporting project origination and development in all of our markets.

Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, with a major in Finance and a minor in History. Prior to working for Lodestar, Thomas spent a year at a software start-up working with food & beverage companies in a business development and customer success role.

Joshua is a strategic business development specialist focused on advancing solar energy adoption across the United States. He is responsible for supporting broad company efforts—from corporate strategy to policy & regulatory affairs, and market development. His work emphasizes leveraging policy to create new market opportunities, wherever they may arise. Acting as a liaison to Lodestar’s industry partners, he works to utilize key relationships to promote the continued development of solar energy across the nation.

Prior to joining Lodestar, Joshua gained valuable experience at the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Center for Progressive Reform, and the Pace Energy and Climate Center. He holds a J.D. from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, with an Advanced Certificate in Environmental Law.

Adam is a Project Developer with a proven track record in developing Community Distributed Generation projects. Adam adeptly fosters community partnerships and implements innovative solar solutions that benefit stakeholders. He possesses extensive knowledge of the New York State Environmental Quality Review process and has hands-on experience with public hearings, environmental and ecological permitting, title insurance, project siting, real estate, utility interconnection processes and managing projects from conception to NTP.

Over the past several years, Adam managed a 50MW pipeline of pre-NTP community solar projects, and was responsible for origination, permitting and transition to NTP.

Adam holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph and is passionate about creating sustainable energy solutions for communities, bringing new ideas to the foreground, and doing business in good faith with landowners, municipalities, utilities and stakeholders.
